Photos from the 2002 Solid Waste
& Recycling Symposium

Above left, Ann Dolence, this year's
keynote luncheon speaker, had the audience laughing with
her "Humor That Stress" talk. Right, vendors
and attendees enjoy visiting during one of the many
breaks!

Above left, Member Jim Langseth accepts the 2002 Leadership Award from Board
Member Tom Beauchamp (Langdon) on behalf of the City of
Rolla. Above Center, Nancy Eccles, Energy
Laboratories, accepts the Vendor Choice Award.
Above right, Member Mary Pringle accepts one of
three 2002 Scholarship Awards on behalf of her daughter,
Elizabeth Walker; presented by Board Member Angela
Schneider (City of Fargo). The other two
recipients were Kevin Moos (son of a City of Langdon
employee) and Roberta Hassett (daughter of Debra P. of
the Energy & Environmental Research Center (Grand
Forks). Congratulations!

Above left,
recycling sessions brought forth
discussion about what's happening in various cities
across North Dakota and into other states. On the
solid waste side of things, Kevin Solie of the ND Dept.
of Health, above right, provides a hands-on
demonstration of capacitor removal from a microwave.

Mary Aldrich (Minnkota
Recycling), Richard Newman (City of Grand Forks) (both
above) and Jim Langseth (City of Rolla) fell under the spell of
hypnotist Jim Brodigan, Brodigan Entertainment following
the awards banquet.
The weather was
absolutely beautiful for the Fifth Annual Golf Tournament in
Fargo. Above left, grilling out after a hard
day's work. Above right, team members enjoy a photo opp.
after a great steak dinner. Check out details for
the 6th Annual Golf
Tournament in Bismarck for 2003. Don't miss
out on the new
opportunities we have for the non-golfers for the
2003 symposium!
Attendees enjoyed a
tour of Case IH and the City of Fargo's Household
Hazardous Waste Facility during the symposium.
