April 17 - New Town (4 Bears Casino & Lodge)
April 18 - Dickinson (City Hall)
April 24 - Valley City (Eagles Club)
April 26 - Devils Lake (Great American Inn)
May 9 - Bismarck (ND Dept. of Health's Environmental Training Center)

These workshops were free and provided through an EPA Environmental Education Grant.  Contact Angela (see bottom of page for contact information) for more information about the workshops.

Inert Landfill, Composting and
Recycling Workshops

These are held several times per year around the state.  The last one was held in February 2007 in Grand Forks.  The April and May workshops listed above covered many of these topics.  Topics typically in
clude: Site Construction and Development, Waste Screening, Asbestos, Landfill Fires, Tire and Concrete Management, Composting and Wood Waste Management.

Project Safe Send
Each summer, the Department of Agriculture offers a used pesticide collection in communities across the state.  "This is a good time for anyone with pesticides – farmers, ranchers, chemical dealers and applicators, government agencies and homeowners – to take stock of their inventory and set aside unusable pesticides for disposal,” said Agriculture Commissioner Roger Johnson. “With 16 collection sites, no one will have to drive far to get rid of their waste pesticides, safely, efficiently and at no charge.”  The 2007 collections will take place  July 10 - 24.  See the list of locations.  Call (701) 328-4997 for more information on this program.

Scrap Metal/Appliance Workshops
These took place in 2005.  The following Web site is a result of a grant through which the workshops were conducted.  www.recyclemetal.org
