Pickup of items is done locally utilizing trailers for businesses generating recyclable items. Residential curbside pickup is provided by the City of Harvey, on the first Wednesday of every month. The Minot Vocational Adjustment Workshop (MVAW) in Minot accepts recyclable materials from residents and businesses. Waste Management, Inc. accepts and collects recyclables in many areas of North Dakota. Many cities that have Waste Management's garbage collection services, also have either a curbside recycling tote (all recyclables can be placed in the same tote) and/or yard waste recycling serices. The recyclables that are collected this way, for example, in Grand Forks and many smaller communities throughout our state, are sent to Minneapolis to be sorted further.
