Annual Scholarship Award

The Silent Auction, held each year at the annual symposium, began in 1999.  Donations made towards auction items go directly into the scholarship fund. 

2009: seven $300 scholarships were awarded
2008: five $300 scholarships were awarded
2007: four $500 scholarships were awarded
2006: five $300 scholarships were awarded
2005: four $250 scholarships were awarded
2004: four $250 scholarships were awarded
2003: four $200 scholarships were awarded
2002: three $250 scholarships were awarded
2001: two $250 scholarships were awarded

Whether you want to take one Continuing Education class or program, attend a technical or community college, university or other educational institution, consider applying for this scholarship.  The deadline for the Annual Scholarship Award is August 31 of each year; view the application here.  If you have questions, please contact us at the number below.  

Parameters:

1.      Applicant must be a NDSWRA member or immediate family member of a NDSWRA member (click on “Members” in the left bar and see our member list).

2.      Provide two letters of reference (relatives may not provide a letter of reference).

3.      New in 2010: Applicant must indicate how his/her training, education or experiences (recent or future) are related to solid waste, recycling, the environment or related field.

4.      Scholarship payment will be used to cover the expense of tuition, books and/or training.

5.      The NDSWRA Scholarship Committee may request an educational progress report.

North Dakota Recyclers Association (NDRA) Scholarship

The NDRA also awards an annual scholarship to those interested in the field of recycling.  Contact them at (701) 435-2362 for an application or for more information.
